Sarah’s Summer Cocktails

Summer is almost here, meaning it’s time for fruity, refreshing cocktails. We’ve rounded up our favorite, easy-to-make summer drinks that will impress at any event or get-together.

Margarita Sangria  

The perfect drink to bring to a picnic for a crowd. 

*makes a pitcher 
Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 4-5 limes
  • 1 bottle of Pinot Grigio
  • 2 cups fresh lime juice
  • 2 cups Tequila
  • 1 ½ cup simple syrup
  • 1 cup Triple Sec

Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a pitcher. Stir, then serve in glasses garnished with a lime.

Frozen Aperol Spritz 

A summery twist on the ever-popular Aperol Spritz. 

*Makes 2 drinks
Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ice
  • 4 oz orange juice
  • 4 oz Aperol
  • 4 oz Prosecco

Instructions:
Blend the first 3 ingredients until smooth, then add the Prosecco for the final 30 seconds. Pour into a glass and garnish with an orange slice.

Limoncello Spritz

Maybe it’s just us, but there’s nothing more refreshing than lemon. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Limoncello
  • 3 oz Prosecco
  • 2 oz Perrier or club soda
  • Ice

Instructions:
Fill a glass with ice and pour the ingredients over. Give it a quick stir and garnish with lemon, mint or both.

Watermelon Margarita 

Regular or spicy, it will knock your boots off every time. 

*Makes 4 drinks
Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup Tequila
  • 5 cups cut watermelon
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • Ice

Instructions:
Rim glasses with salt or Tajin. Blend all ingredients, pour into rimmed glasses with more ice, and garnish with lime. 

*Want to make it spicy? Slice up 1-2 jalapenos (depending on your taste) and soak in the tequila for 15 to 30 minutes before mixing drinks.

Orange Rose Mimosa

The appeal to this one is the cool “ice” cube. You’d be surprised how easy it is to make these fancy orange roses to take your mimosa game up a notch.

Ingredients:

  • Orange slices
  • Orange juice
  • Champagne or Prosecco

Instructions:
Cut orange slices into half moons, then place 2-3 orange slices in a large ice cube tray in a “rose” design. Pour orange juice around slices then freeze. 

Place a frozen orange rose in a glass and pour in Champagne or Prosecco.

Dirty Martini

It’s not Sarah’s drink roundup without her favorite, a Dirty Martini. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ oz Vodka or Gin
  • ½ oz Vermouth (dry)
  • ½ oz olive brine
  • 2 – 3 olives for garnish

Instructions:
Add your gin or vodka, vermouth and olive brine over ice in your shaker and shake for 40 – 60 seconds. 

Strain through a mesh strainer into a chilled glass, then garnish with a few olives.
