4 Methods for Sticker Residue Removal
Today, we’re tackling a pesky problem we’ve all faced—stuck-on sticker residue. Don’t worry; we’ve got not one but four simple methods to lift that stubborn, sticky mess easily.
Our go-to product to try first is Dawn® Powerwash. It works on almost all surface types. Just spray, scrub, and wipe. If that doesn’t work, try one of the methods below.
No matter which method you choose, always test a small spot first to make sure you won’t be doing any damage while removing that sticky glue.

Method 1: Heat it Up
Works on: Wood, metal, glass, and fabric.
What you need:
- Hairdryer
- Iron (for clothing/fabrics)
- Rag/paper towel (for fabric)
For Hard Surfaces:
- Set your hair dryer to a low heat setting.
- Hold the hair dryer a couple of inches away from the sticker, keeping it there for around 1-2 minutes or until the residue starts to soften.
- Once softened, you can now peel the sticker residue away with ease.
For Clothing/Fabric:
- Place a paper towel or rag on your ironing board, and place the fabric sticky side down on the towel or rag.
- Press the iron (on low heat) onto the affected area for around 30 seconds or until the sticker glue has transferred onto the paper towel underneath it. Easy peasy.
- Spray the spot with a stain treatment (like Tide® Rescue) and wash as usual.

Method 2: Lemon Oil or Orange Oil
Works on: Glass, metal, plastic, ceramic, porcelain, and painted surfaces (always test a small spot first).
What you need:
- Lemon or Orange essential oil
- Soft-bristled scrub brush
- Cloth
- Dish soap (we love blue Dawn®)
- Pour a small amount of oil over your sticker residue and let it sit for around 10 minutes or until it starts to soften.
- Once softened, take either a soft-bristled brush or a cloth and gently scrub to remove any remaining glue.
- Now, just wipe off the leftover oil with some soap and water.
Method 3: Vinegar
Works on: Glass, metal, plastic, ceramic, and porcelain.
What you need:
- White vinegar
- Paper towel
- Soft-bristled scrub brush
- Cloth
- Wet a piece of paper towel with a 1:1 ratio of vinegar and water.
- Place the paper towel over the residue and let it soak for 10-15 minutes or until the glue has started to dissolve.
- Remove the paper towel and gently wipe/scrub off the now-softened sticker residue.
Method 4: Rubbing Alcohol
Works on: Glass, metal, plastic, ceramic, porcelain, and electronics.
What you need:
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cloth
- Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a cloth.
- Using small circular motions, gently scrub the sticker residue to remove it. Simple!
Removing sticker residue doesn’t have to be a daunting task. Armed with our methods, you can easily tackle stubborn adhesives, leaving your surfaces looking brand new.

Sneaky surprise clean for my Mom for Mother’s Day! She deserved this so much, she has scrubbed a lot of houses with me over the years. Many of you may not know this but my Mom has tagged along and helped with cleaning and training the team since day one. She knows the entire team inside and out and we all love to call her “Mom”. She taught me how to clean, how to run a business and most importantly, how to stand on my own two feet. Then I took everything she taught me and turned it into ✨ THIS ✨

I used Mr. Clean undiluted, sprayed it on and let it sit for about ten minutes, scrubbed and wiped it off well to rinse. Letting your cleaning products sit is part of the process, they do a lot of the heavy lifting for you. I think many of us get discouraged with cleaning products because we spray and wipe immediately with minimal results…dirt and grease needs time to soften and break down before you can remove it. However, there is always a little bit (or a lot) of elbow grease required, nothing in life is free 🙃

Recipe:
1 gallon of hot water in a bucket
1 teaspoon of powered tide laundry detergent
Microfibre cloth or a ripped up old towel—you need a cloth with texture to get into the grooves of the paint but do not scrub too hard or scrape because you’ll chip the paint.
Wipe the walls down and let it soften the boogers/food/dog slobber, then repeat. The hot water will help soften the crud, the tide will lift the dirt.
No need to rinse.
