Cordless Vacuum Review 2024
Technology advances quickly, and new products are released constantly. One item that is particularly affected by this is vacuums. Back in 2022, we reviewed several cordless vacuums (read about it here), and itβs time to do it again!
One caveat: As professional cleaners, our preference will always be to use corded vacuums on the job. When cleaning for 8 hours, we need reliable power.
But we love using cordless vacuum cleaners in our homes. They are perfect for quick clean-ups and daily tidying.
Some of the things we look for in cordless vacuums are:
- Suction: What good is a vacuum if it doesnβt suck? We test them with various messes and on both hard floors and carpets. Does it fling the dirt around, and does it clean all the way up to the edges and baseboards?
- Battery life: Thereβs nothing worse than losing power part-way through a job. How long will the battery last? Is the battery replaceable or built in?
- Attachments: How versatile is it for all the cleaning jobs you need it to do? We love a crevice tool and an upholstery tool (bonus points if itβs powered).
- Canister size and filter: Not too big to be clunky, not too small that itβs filled up in 2 minutes. How easy is it to empty/replace?
- Wall mount: can it be easily stored when not in use?
Without further ado, here is how this yearβs vacuums stacked up:
Dyson V15 Detect (USA) (Canada)
Shark Detect Pro (USA) (Canada)
Levoit LVAC-200 (USA) (Not available in Canada)

Eureka Rapidclean Pro (weβll spare you the link to this one).
We hope this helps if you are looking for a cordless vacuum cleaner. Take it from us because we know what sucks and what doesnβt suck.

I used Mr. Clean undiluted, sprayed it on and let it sit for about ten minutes, scrubbed and wiped it off well to rinse. Letting your cleaning products sit is part of the process, they do a lot of the heavy lifting for you. I think many of us get discouraged with cleaning products because we spray and wipe immediately with minimal resultsβ¦dirt and grease needs time to soften and break down before you can remove it. However, there is always a little bit (or a lot) of elbow grease required, nothing in life is free π

Recipe:
1 gallon of hot water in a bucket
1 teaspoon of powered tide laundry detergent
Microfibre cloth or a ripped up old towelβyou need a cloth with texture to get into the grooves of the paint but do not scrub too hard or scrape because youβll chip the paint.
Wipe the walls down and let it soften the boogers/food/dog slobber, then repeat. The hot water will help soften the crud, the tide will lift the dirt.
No need to rinse.
